Linking rural Gambia with rural Scotland A story of friendship between two village schools |
On Saturday 22nd April 2006 the University of Strathclyde held a Race Night in The High School of Glasgow Pavillion.
Robert Currie from the University of Strathclyde opened the evening, supported by Fintry Primary School teacher Anna McCallum, outlining the objectives of the project and further development. This event raised funds for the installation of electrical power within the primary school and clinic in Sambel Kunda. It was a brilliant success and we raised an outstanding £2337. Thanks to Kate McKee and Anne Dolan for their organisation of the event and their support on the night! Without all the 'punters' this event would not have been so successful, many thanks to everyone who came along and spent their hard earned cash.
