Groundnut (peanut) and tourism. Oil discovered in 2004 but not yet developed.

Two seasons - Sunny and rainy seasons. Temperature ranges from 22-38c but can be higher inland at Sambel Kunda.

Four seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. High rainfall. Temperature ranges from 0 - 23c

Official language English. Also Mandinka, Wolof and Fula. In the Sambel Kunda area Fula is widely used.
